With myofascial release, gentle, sustained pressure is applied to loosen and lengthen the constricting fascia. During this time, the massage therapist may work on breaking down adhesions between the tissues. It may take several minutes for each specific area to be worked on for the tissues to be softened which can reduce pain and restore range of motion.

The massage is moderated week to week according to the developments of your body as it moves through the 40 weeks gestation.
IASTM is a new range of tool which enables clinicians to efficiently locate and treat individuals diagnosed with soft tissue dysfunction. It is performed with ergonomically designed instruments that detect and treat fascial restrictions, encourage rapid localization and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or degeneration. There are also enough evidence that suggest the clinical benefits of IASTM in improvement in range of motion, fibroblast proliferation, increased vascular response and reduction in scar tissues.
It creates a vacuum to help loosen connective tissue and promote healing by increasing blood and lymph flow to the areas. The suction and negative pressure can also loosen muscle, decrease tension and sedate the nervous system.
Grace is a highly motivated and experienced Massage Therapist.
After completing her Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy in the Philippines, she had further formal training in lymphatic drainage massage and myofascial release while working as a Physiotherapist in both a tertiary hospital and community for 4 years.
Since moving to NZ, Graces massage practice has focused more on deep tissue, sports and relaxation massage. She has worked in a sports and therapeutic massage clinic, as well as offering corporate massage services in offices, sports and events.
Grace also currently works as a Disability Support Coordinator helping people with special needs in a private facility. Having a strong foundation in Physiotherapy field, massage therapy and disability sector through the years, it helps her to showcase her skills by identifying the unique needs of her clients and taking care of their well being.
Outside of work, Grace enjoys running, playing badminton and ten pin bowling and spending time with her family and friends.
